Testimonials

We had a truly wonderful time at your home. Your renovations are superb, the location is extremely convenient, and you have equipped the house very thoughtfully (particularly the kitchen). The housebook was incredibly valuable; we used it as a reference many times each day. Tara was extremely helpful, from excusing our tardy arrival (we hit very heavy traffic and then got lost trying to avoid it) to putting the various keys into the locks so we wouldn’t have to rummage for them, to arranging for a chef to prepare a meal for us.

The two bicycles were particularly useful; my older daughter and I went cycling several mornings. She hates exercise of any kind, but loved cycling with me on the local roads.

The downstairs bedroom was great for my in-laws, because they didn’t have to go up and down stairs. The bedroom above that was great for our older daughter, because she could get pretty far away from her parents.

I would say the house exceeded our expectations, and we would certainly recommend it to others and hope to stay there again.”

What a lovely vacation spot! The house is beautifully decorated, with wonderful art, stylish furniture, and a kitchen that works in every sense of the word — as a gathering spot for friends to share cooking tasks, or to watch and sip the local wines while those more skilled (including Chef Ronald) take on the meal preparation. For runners or cyclists, the roads nearby are mostly flat, and paved, but we found a wonderful route that took us through the neighboring vineyards on our morning run. At one point, I looked around and realized that the view I was seeing was largely unchanged for hundreds or thousands of years, and completely unspoiled.

You feel the history of the area all around you
, but there is every modern amenity you could possibly need. There was even an espresso machine in the kitchen that made lattes every bit as good as Starbucks! The wireless internet connection worked great in the kitchen and living room, so I was able to keep in touch with friends back home.

I hear there was a television with 200 channels, but I was never even tempted to turn it on, and I don’t think anyone in our group did.

Mas de la Perdrix is a dream! For obvious reasons, it felt as though we were in a private home, and we all appreciated your art, the well-appointed kitchen and the small touches which made for a very special holiday. Not only were Marilyn and Jim incredibly easy to work with, but the detailed information they offered from their own experiences, proved to be invaluable.

This is the place for those who want to immerse themselves in the French countryside, but don’t want to give up the luxuries of a large, well-appointed kitchen, plenty of bathrooms and tasteful décor.

Quelles Bonnes vacances! My family enjoyed a very pleasant stay. This house has been very nicely designed and the kitchen makes one particularly envious. I really enjoyed your book collection.

From the first moment I stepped into the foyer of Mas de la Perdrix, I felt I had come home after a long journey. Photographs and pictures had given me some sense of what to expect, but what I didn’t expect was the emotional impact of this magical and serene place. Mas de la Perdrix is located in the tiny hameau (hamlet) of Les Barbiers in the Luberon valley of the south of France. We found ourselves conveniently within striking distance of several charming hill towns such as Roussillon, Gordes, Apt, and Bonnieux. Each of these villages is very proud of, and rightfully so, their specialty outdoor markets. “Foraging” for our supper each night was a delight as was the super-modern salle de cuisine of Mas de la Perdrix. This is a kitchen straight out of a foodie’s dream!

The home has a centuries old exterior and a bright, modern interior with every imaginable convenience. Of the many well-planned features of the home, the very private bedrooms, each with a private bathroom, has to rate an A+ for any families or couples spending time together.

We were often torn by our desire to just sit outside by the pool and enjoy the peaceful countryside or jump in the car for an excursion to Isle sur la Sorgue, Arles or Avignon. Mas de la Perdrix will calm your senses and restore your soul. Apprécier!

We loved your fantastically well-equipped kitchen. It was so nice to find ourselves at a place where the knives were actually sharp and the pans weren’t battered aluminum.
Many thanks for providing us with a very memorable week.

Truly, you have thought of everything, right down to the scented soap!

Thank you for creating your ‘dream house’.

We were very much ‘away with the fairies’ in the most peaceful and wonderful home.

What a week! We truly felt like we were living in a movie from the French cinema; zipping around the beautiful countryside, stopping randomly at all the charming villages for shopping and long, leisurely lunches. Then to come back to your gorgeous home and prepare gourmet dinners with all of the fresh, delicious foods collected at the market of the day were priceless adventures in Provence. We all crave to come back.
